Tides go in and out. You two high tides in 24 hours. I need to know this for my sailing. The rule of 12 shows me that the water will be flowing the fastest in the 3rd and 4th hours therefore the strongest tide will happen then. Slack tide is the 1st and 6th hours when the water is flowing the least.
