There were many dandelions on my path today. If each dandelion has 400 seeds and I blow off 270, how many are left? If I blow away half of the seeds, how many more dandelions will grow? I played 'What's the time?' by blowing all the seeds away. What time was it when the seeds were all gone? I used them as a clock. When I blow off the seeds from a dandelion, I noticed that the seed head is shaped like a sphere so every part of the surface has a seed attached to it. I can't think of a better shape to hold so many seeds. The seeds are connected by a stalk to their own parachute. The stalks are long enough to allow enough space for all the parachutes to open and when ready the wind will catch them and carry them away. Did dandelion seeds help us to design parachutes for humans?
