I’ve done some research and maths really is in every day life! A normal five minute shower uses 75 litres of water which is equal to 20 (US) gallons of water or the equivalent to the fuel tank capacity of a Cessna 152 (19.5 gallons). Whereas a bath uses 80 litres of water, which is equivalent to a Porsche model 944 which holds 80L (21 US gallons) of fuel. So which one is more efficient? Well, the Porsche 944‘s MPG (Mile per gallon) is 21.9 And the Cessna’s MPG is 20, meaning that that the Porsche 944 is more efficient than the Cessna 152. But does that then mean that a bath is more efficient/eco friendly than a shower?
