Our S5 Maths group have been listening to the lyrics and music of Scottish singer songwriter Matt McGinn’s The Jeely Piece Song to find any mentions of shape. We had never heard of of the song before.
The skyscraper models are cuboids. Lots of buildings past and present are cuboid shaped because they are easy to construct, strong and stable. The boy is complaining about the height of the one he lives in.
We do not know the shape of the piece but we think it is also a cuboid depending the way the bread has been sliced by his mum.

A satellite and plane are both complex 3D structures made of multiple types of basic 3D shapes all with a purpose.
The windows in our drawing are rectangles in real life would be more like cuboids. They would be a standard size so that the same window could be fitted on each floor and also replaced easily if one was broken or damaged for example by a flying football or even a jeely piece.
Our ASNA knew all the words and the tune so sang along.
