I took this photo in South Africa in July 2019. I was fascinated by the zebra stripe patterns. I did some research and watched a film clip called 'Can Math explain how animals get their patterns?' I learned that Alan Turing researched and created theories to try to predict all kinds of patterns like spots or stripes. The maths models, are based on things called activators and inhibitors. This has led to more study and and research. It is amazing what Maths I found out after being fascinated by what I saw in nature.
