The basketball hoop has diamond shapes on as you can see. They go from 20cm to 7cm high, the red ones are the biggest ones and the blue and white ones are 7cm, it is like this so the ball slows down when it goes through. It used to be a peach basket without a hole in the bottom so someone would have to go up a ladder and get the ball.
