For Maths Week Scotland, I enjoyed learning about the 12 basic principles of Animation by watching a film clip with animation to demonstrate each one. There is lots of Maths involved in animation - knowledge of different shapes and how they behave, angles, turns, making things bigger or smaller. Frame rate (frames per second) can be 30fps but often less is used which can also mean less time and money involved. Animators need a good understanding of maths to do their job. I made my first flip book, all you need is a pencil and a bundle of paper.
