The Fibbonacci sequence is a sequence invented by Fibbonacci who was a famous mathematician working in the 13th century. My parents told me about the golden ratio and the golden spiral which I found in this Australian seashell, in my house! His sequence goes like this: 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13‚… Each number can be figured out by adding up the two numbers in front of it. The 2 is found by adding the numbers before it, 1+1=2. The three is found, again, by adding the numbers before it, 1+2=3. And so on. When we make a series of squares with those measurements we get a pattern called the golden ratio, from which we can draw a spiral, also known as the golden spiral. If you look back at the seashell picture, then you will see a great illustration of the golden spiral!
