Crashing Waves (in motion)

My Mum and I were walking the dog on the beach and we timed the waves crashing on the shore. I wondered how many waves would come onshore in a day. In 10 seconds I counted 5 waves coming onshore and I calculated that for 1 minute (6x5) 30 waves would come ashore. Next, I wanted to work out how many waves crashed in a day. I worked out that the number of waves in an hour would be 60 minutes x 30 = 1,800 and for a day would be 24 hours x 1,800 = 43,200!
