This picture of a dolphin was taken on a boat off the coast of Islay. I know dolphins are clever, but I wondered if they could do my maths homework? I looked them up online and found out scientists have shown that if you put two different numbers of dots in front of trained dolphins they can point to the one that is less. You can’t do maths without knowing more or less. Dolphins also use maths to hunt down their prey by swimming around the prey and blowing bubbles and pinging the prey with their sonar. Scientists say they do complex calculations to see their prey with the sonar. I don’t understand the maths, so I think they could do my homework!
