Distance can play tricks and make big things seem smaller than they really are. My globe is much smaller than the world but it isn’t bigger than me, but here I am jumping off it. My globe measures 31cm across. I am 122cm tall. In the picture my height looks about one third of the distance across the globe. From that you can work out how far behind the globe that I am — but it’s quite tricky. The parrot always sits on my globe. He can’t do sums. He can’t talk either.
